RIDSTONE

RIDSTONE contains Potassium sodium hydrogen citrate (6:6:3:5) 2427.7 mg and is used for the treatment of kidney stones.

RIDSTONE is sparingly soluble or completely insoluble in solutions of greater acidity (i.e. pH below 6), and under these conditions, it forms crystals and in unfavourable circumstances may grow into stones. RIDSTONE action is based on the fact that it can stabilize the pH of urine within the correct pH range of 6.2 to 6.8. Thus RIDSTONE improves the solubility of uric acid and prevents the formation of uric acid crystals (stones) and also re-dissolves any crystals (stones) that are already present. RODSTONE is free from carbohydrates and can therefore safely be taken by diabetics.

RIDSTONE is used for whipping of urate stones, prevention of recurrences of calcium stones and uric acid stones, as well as mixed forms of calcium oxalate stones / urate acid or calcium oxalate / calcium phosphate.

Potassium sodium hydrogen citrate

Take 4 scoops (10 g granules) a day, divided into 3 doses after meals : Drink 1 scoop each morning, one at noon and 2 every night after eating.
The pH of fresh urine should be in the range between 6.2 – 6.8.
If the pH is lower, the daily dose should be increased with a half-scoop night.
If the pH is above the recommended limit, the daily dose should be reduced by half scoop.

To prevent recurrence of calcium stones :
The daily dose should be 2-3 scoops (5 – 7.5 g granules) to be taken once in the evening. If the pH is too low to be taken 3-4.5 scoops (7.5 -11.25 g granules), divided into 2-3 doses during the day, after meals. The aim should be urinary pH 7.0. At any time the pH should not fall below 6.2 and rises above 7.4.
The levels of citrate and / or pH of the urine should be regularly checked and according to specify individual dosage.

RIDSTONE must not be used in acute of chronic renal failure condition. Before initiation of the therapy all adverse condition leading to kidney stone formation must be excluded. Care should be taken incase of hepatic failure patients. No adequate data is available for the use in pregnant or nursing women and therefore should be avoided. Children under 12 years are not recommended for its use.
